Three highly skilled technicians purchase, install, and maintain networking equipment for the ESD, its four school districts, and a variety of non-profit governmental agencies.

The ESD Tech Center continually strives to leverage technology to serve regional districts while improving efficiency. Strategies to accomplish this goal include:

• Charging as little as possible or not at all for services to districts
• Economize on Open Source technology when possible
• Centralize services to increase quality & decrease cost
• Consolidate purchasing for increased savings
• Provide solutions and support that enable higher quality services
• Keep abreast of the latest innovations

The department also continues to develop and support a local Wide Area Network for the ESD, component school districts and other “non-private” organizations. This network consists of multiple, redundant licensed microwave links with a bandwidth ranging from 100 to 300 Mbps.
